I'm Just No Good At Rhyming: And Other Nonsense for Mischievous Kids and Immature Grown-Ups
Highly recommended. I think it will make children wriggle with delight - Stephen Fry If I ever find myself holding a gecko . . . I'll lecko. Forget what you think you know about poetry - this is something totally different. Chris Harris' I'm Just No Good At Rhyming combines wit, wordplay and nonsense with visual and verbal tricks to make you look at the world in a new and wonderfully upside-down way, reminiscent of Spike Milligan. I'm just no good at rhyming. It makes me feel so bad. I'm just no good at rhyming, And that's why I'm so blue. This entirely unique collection of wildly witty words offers a surprise around every corner, from the ongoing rivalry between the author and illustrator (mean poem and cruel portrait included), to the mysteriously misnumbered pages that can only be deciphered by a certain code-cracking verse, to a poem that is 100% genuinely infinite. Meet a balding werewolf, competitive boulders, a birthday piranha, and find out if grown-ups really are better! Why are grown-ups better than kids? 'Cause we got what it takes - We never, ever, ever, ever, ever, make mistaeks! Adding to the fun: Lane Smith, winner of the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal for There Is a Tribe of Kids, has spectacularly illustrated this extraordinary collection with nearly one hundred pieces of appropriately absurd art. It's a mischievous match made in heaven and the perfect gift for creative kids or immature grown-ups.

Bonkers Ballads
Colin West's new collection, Bonkers Ballads, contains a host of funny poems and accompanying colour illustrations sure to tickle your ribs and make you chuckle. Amongst the crazy characters are a seasick mermaid, an out-of-tune minstrel and a natty knight whose only concern is keeping his armour extra bright. And there is a mischivous fairy who loves practical jokes, a king with toothache and a very, very clever pig. Also included are a crafty witch, a feisty female pirate and a poor peasant who fashions himself a pair of fantastic boots which bring him fame and fortune. There's even a pair of star-crossed lovers of Bingo, a wandering bear, a tabby cat who wears a hat and a whole bunch more in this fabulous book! Colin West's fun poems are strong in rhyme and rhythm. There is not only magic and mayhem in these ballads, but great charm and warmth to balance the gruesome ends which some of the characters suffer. Colin has combined his love of history and poetry to create a memorable collection jam packed with fun to cause maximum merriment. The pages of Bonkers Ballads are embellished with over a hundred of his own witty illustrations. Colin's poems have been widely anthologised in both Britain and America. Ken Nesbitt, the former U.S. Children's Laureate has hailed Colin West `a master of the art of humorous poetry for children'. Poet Wendy Cope has said `Colin West has a considerable talent as a writer and an illustrator'. If you read this new collection you are likely to agree.

Phizzwhizzing new cover look and branding for the World's NUMBER ONE Storyteller! BOY, Roald Dahl's bestselling autobiography, is full of hilarious anecdotes about his childhood and school days, illustrated by Quentin Blake. As a boy, all sorts of unusual things happened to Roald Dahl. There was the time he and four school friends got their revenge on beastly Mrs Prachett in her sweet shop. There are stories of holidays in fishing boats, African adventures and the days of tasting chocolate for Cadbury's. You'll hear tales of horrible school bullies and the motor-car accident when Roald's nose was nearly sliced clean off . . . Roald Dahl vividly shares his memories; some are funny. Some are painful. Some are unpleasant. All are true.

Phantom Limb

Published on the occasion of the first solo museum exhibition in the Middle East by acclaimed sculptor Diana Al-Hadid, at the Art Gallery of NYU Abu Dhabi.

This monograph surveys the oeuvre of Syrian-American artist Diana Al-Hadid at a critical juncture in her fast-growing career. In the 10 years since her MFA, this artist has had 22 solo exhibitions at museums and galleries around the world. Already represented by a major New York gallery (Marianne Boesky), Al-Hadid has gone on to mount important solo shows in museums in Europe, and participate in major group exhibitions and biennials internationally. This catalogue marks the occasion of her first solo show in the Middle East, at the Art Gallery of NYU Abu Dhabi – a new exhibition venue dedicated to museum-quality exhibitions and scholarly, timely publications.

Three essays frame Al-Hadid’s work in contrasting perspectives. A global authority on the Northern Renaissance, Reindert Falkenburg, reflects on Al-Hadid’s piece Phantom Limb – itself rich with Renaissance allusions – through the lens of his own training as an art historian. The Guggenheim curator and scholar of Middle Eastern contemporary art Sara Raza writes about Al-Hadid’s work as it intersects with architectural history and contemporary art practices. Finally, Alistair Rider, a historian of modern sculpture, expands the discussion to review her larger practice, in particular as she connects the materiality of her work to the ephemerality of memory and history.
