Emily's Sister: A Family's Journey with Dyspraxia and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)
Emily's sister is different from other children she knows. She seems to struggle with things most of us just do naturally. In this delightfully illustrated story, based upon real family experiences, Emily discovers how to understand and help her sister live a happier life. This story, written by the parent of a child with Dyspraxia and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), paves the way for parents, teachers and medical professionals to discuss these specific learning difficulties with children (aged around 7-9). Unlike most other books on the subject, this book has been written from a child's perspective: enabling young people to ask questions of the story in a non-threatening way and encouraging them to discover how it relates to them. This book can be shared with children having special needs, their family, or their classmates. As with all of its books, the publisher aims to help people know they are not alone with what makes them different. If a young person or adult can relate to a story, it gives them hope and encourages them to share their concerns. The publisher aims to provide free teaching resources for all of its books that can be used in schools, to help improve understanding and celebrate differences.

The Peanut Pickle: A Story about Peanut Allergy
Living with a peanut allergy is hard, and peanuts are everywhere! Ben ate peanut butter when he was young and he had a bad allergic reaction. At first he was too scared to speak up about his allergy and tell people that he couldn't be around peanuts. Now at six years old, he knows that speaking up is very important, since he encounters food with peanuts at school, at T-ball practice, at birthday parties, and during the holidays. Because Ben's friends and family care about him, they are always understanding of his condition and are happy to put away dangerous foods if Ben asks them to. The Peanut Pickle will help children learn how to tell others about a food allergy and explain that they need a safe environment. It will teach them how to deal with difficult and awkward situations that inevitably arise when a child has a life-threatening food allergy. It also includes a guide for parents to help their children with food allergies.

Manage Your Dyslexia: Organise Your Thinking and Learning
Dyslexia often causes children to feel a lack of confidence and lack of self esteem that holds them back in both learning and social situations. Why not let your 11-16 year old dyslexic (or Dyspraxic) child try this gentle & relaxing, twin track self help hypnotherapy recording? It helps them believe in themselves and feel more calm and confident about their abilities. In Track 1 they imagine a mental room with negative opinions and self doubt which they scrub off the walls. Then they paint powerful, self esteem boosting suggestions on to the walls in confident-coloured paint. With these new empowering positive beliefs they visualise the difference it makes to their lives. Track 2 gives specific suggestions for listening, focus, organisation of thinking, planning and getting down to work, various study and spelling strategies and for managing their time. All of this is done within a pleasantly relaxing framework. This SUCCESSFUL APPROACH is based on natural, safe, sound hypnotherapy principles: act out each positive step in the imagination and dramatically increase the chance of success in the real world. Lynda's gentle, English voice calms, re-assures as she gives suggestions for boosting confidence and self esteem. As a former teacher and clinical hypnotherapist of many years standing, she has helped thousands of children world-wide through her CDs and downloads. She has featured in the press, TV and radio and is author of two widely acclaimed books on hypnotherapy with children and adults. The recording uses state of the art technology. Regular listening is the key to success!

Galia's Dad Is in a Wheelchair
Galia is a young girl from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, who likes to ride her bike, dance, and spend time with her father, Gerald, who has muscular dystrophy and has been in a wheelchair since he was a young boy. Despite his disability, Gerald received a master's degree from Harvard University, served as President Michel Martelly's Secretary of State with the disability portfolio, and enjoys many of the same activities with his daughter as other dads. During his five years in public office, Secretary Gerald Oriol Jr. recognized his country's critical shortage of children's literature, particularly related to disability, and encouraged his friend and adviser James English to create a children's book for Haiti, which has an estimated one million persons with disabilities, a number that increased significantly following the 2010 earthquake. Galia's Dad Is in a Wheelchair aims to counter negative stereotypes and stigmas surrounding disability and is believed to be the only children's book on the subject in Haiti available in Creole, French, and English. The book's positive messages, which promote disability awareness and close parent-child relations, are universal and extend to general readers beyond the small Caribbean island nation. Teddy Keser Mombrun, a political cartoonist for Haiti's largest newspaper, Le Nouvelliste, used Haiti's unique color palette and landscapes to create illustrations for the book.
