The Boy with the Saucepan Hat: The Unfortunate Tale of Oliver Todd
Oliver Todd is an accident-prone boy, aged 10-and-a-bit...with a vivid imagination. When he wakes up one day with a saucepan stuck on his head he is (naturally) quite alarmed. His mum and dad whisk him straight up to the local hospital's Accident & Emergency Department where staff try valiantly to extricate poor Ollie from his metal coccoon. However, despite trying all kinds of things, as the lead doctor explains: There is nothing that Medical Science can do.. I have never seen nuthin' this bad! - and they decide that they'll just have to send him home...as he is! A very funny, entertaining story in narrative verse with beautiful, full-colour watercolour and ink illustrations throughout, this title has been received with high praise from children, parents and teachers alike.
