Oathmark
Empires have fallen, and the land is broken. The great oathmarks that once stood as testaments to the allegiances and might of nations have crumbled into ruin. In this lost age, fealty and loyalty are as valuable as gold and as deadly as cold iron, and war is ever-present. Created by Joseph A. McCullough, designer of Frostgrave and Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago, Oathmark is a mass-battle fantasy wargame that puts you in command of the fantasy army you've always wanted, whether a company of stalwart dwarves or a mixed force with proud elves, noble men, and wild goblins standing shoulder-to-shoulder in the battle-line. Fight through an integrated campaign system and develop your realms from battle to battle, adding new territories, recruiting new troop types, and growing to eclipse your rivals... or lose what you fought so hard to gain and fall as so many would-be emperors before you.

After the death of Queen Victoria the city heaves with the uncanny and the eerie. S ances are held and the dead are called upon from darker realms. Samuel Moncrieff, recovering from a recent tragedy of his own, meets Helena Walton-Cisneros, one of London's most reputed mediums. But Helena is not what she seems and she's enlisted by the elusive Lady Matthews to solve a twenty-year-old mystery: the disappearance of her three stepdaughters who vanished without a trace on the Norfolk Fens. But the Fens are a liminal land, where folk tales and dark magic still linger. With locals that speak of devilmen and catatonic children found on the Broads, Helena finds the answer to the mystery leads back to where it started: Samuel Moncrieff.

Wish Man's Wood: The Second Eldritch Collection: 2019: 2: The Second Eldritch Collection
The stories in WISH MAN'S WOOD - 22 of them as in THE EVE OF ST ELIGIUS, range even more widely in space and time. Over their 72,000 words, the setting is between 4,000 BCE and a distant future. In the years between stories take place (or partly take place) in the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Most though, are firmly up to date with action in the present day or near future. The geography is also very wide, The mise-en-scene varies from the UK and other European countries, to Asia and a planet millions light years away. As in the first volume, the degree of darkness varies considerably. For example, Doom Way and Defilement and many of the other stories could only be described as dark, but there is far more hope and optimism in Fertile Ground and Safety First. There are no Dracula castles here but you will find some unusual centrepieces for the stories, like a National Trust managed property in Strawberry Hill, the peaks forming the border between modern-day Poland and Slovakia in High Tatras and an exercise cycle in Jinty. If you're looking for something different, this is the place to look.

Quillifer the Knight
Walter Jon Williams is always fun, but this may be his best yet, a delight from start to finish, witty, colorful, exciting and amusing by turns, exquisitely written. -George R. R. Martin Chock full of derring-do, blood and thunder, swashbuckling, and other good stuff evocative of Rafael Sabatini, Sir Walter Scott, and the penny-bloods. -Paul Di Filippo, author of The Big Get-Even Quillifer-now a member of the nobility-finds himself further immersed in court politics as the outcast princess Floria is suddenly in a position of power with a rebellion stoked by a certain brilliant tactician, in this thrilling sequel to Quillifer. Rogue. Joker. Lover. Reluctant conspirator. The ambitious young Quillifer was been knighted for services to the crown, but was then banished from court by a queen who finds him obnoxious. Now, after a two-year voyage to improve his fortunes, Quillifer returns to court and is plunged immediately into a maelstrom of intrigue that triggers duels, plots, amours, and rollicking adventure. Bounding back and forth from the high councils of state to the warm bed of his mistress, Quillifer must exert every ounce of seductive charm and low cunning in order to survive. Queen Berlauda's foreign husband brings war in his wake, along with a clutch of officials who enforce the royal will with violence, torture, and judicial murder. A dragon menaces the realm, and political conspiracy threatens the life of Quillifer's young patroness, Princess Floria. It's the traditional job of a knight to fight dragons and rescue princesses, but Quillifer is hardly a traditional knight, and he brings to the job an array of unorthodox skills that dazzles his swarm of rivals, seduces their wives, and threatens the realm. But there's a greater menace to Quillifer than deadly political intrigue, for once again he finds himself hunted by the cruel, beautiful, and vengeful goddess Orlanda.

Vicky and the Magic Crystal
Rebellion has broken out in the Kingdom of the Elves, and Vicky's friend, Aurelia - now Queen - has been deposed and imprisoned. Once again Vicky is called upon to help. Magically transported to the kingdom, Vicky helps free her friend but learns that overcoming the rebel elves is dependent on finding a rare gemstone that holds the magic that all elves once possessed. Called the Magic Crystal, it was hidden centuries ago in a land far away that Vicky recognizes as Ancient Egypt, but if the rebels find it first Aurelia will have no chance of regaining her throne. Vicky, Aurelia, Ephelia, and Andron must therefore undertake a perilous mission, the success of which will rely on Vicky's magical powers. Aided by dragons and a strange desert people, the four friends eventually travel through space and time to Tutankhamun's Egypt, a land also riven by strife and one in which the rebel elves are already present. There, the friends face further obstacles: a battle on the Nile; a major conflagration; capture by the rebels; and a life-threatening trial in the Egyptian Underworld.
