A collection of exceptional poetry by 5th tor grade Lakota students of the Red Cloud Middle School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The historic school was founded in 1888 at the request of the great Chief Red Cloud of the Oglala Sioux. The poems enable readers to learn about the unique lives and heritage of these students, growing up in such distinctive circumstances and straddling cultures. The collection is compiled by a teacher at the school, working with the school administrators. It will also contain never before published artworks from S. D. Neison and other Native American artists.
