This is the first of a new series of books about the business of retail sales and purchasing, promoted by the British Shops and Stores Association (BSSA). The previous series forms the cornerstone of professional and vocational training and development amongst sales staff and managers. This book looks at the optimum way for retailers to engage with the community, to the benefit of all. Topics include: researching your market; making the business stand out; socially responsible retailing; getting involved with the community; your community working for you; and the law as it applies to retailing.
