The National Toxicology Program's Chemical Database, Volume III: Vol 3
This database provides a vast amount of information about potentially toxic chemicals to regulatory and research agencies, consultants, academics, and libraries. The National Toxicology Program's Chemical Database consists of eight volumes containing 50 fields that present detailed information on 2,270 different chemicals. The data is obtained from the literature or experimentally determined. Each compound is listed in every volume even when there is no information available for it in some volumes. Information in the NTP database was gathered and updated as compounds were used throughout a 12 year period from 1979 to 1991. Throughout the eight volumes, the primary chemical name and the Chemical Abstracts Service Registry Number (CAS No.) remain constant and all 2,270 chemicals are listed alphabetically in each volume. The NTP database can be sold as a set or individually. Each volume consists of one 3-1/2 and two 5-1/4 diskettes , in addition to a 64 page manual that describes how to use the software. Diskettes will run on IBM(R) or IBM-compatible equipment with DOS 2.0 and higher, 640K internal memory (RAM), and a hard drive with at least 2-17MB of available disk space. Use the eight volumes together to get the full benefit of the NTP Chemical Repository Database, or select only those volumes that contain the information you need and use them as stand-alone databases. Each volume consists of one 3-1/2 and two 5-1/4 diskettes, that will run on IBM or IBM-compatible hardware!

ALERT: Before you purchase, check with your instructor or review your course syllabus to ensure that you select the correct ISBN. Several versions of Pearson's MyLab & Mastering products exist for each title, including customized versions for individual schools, and registrations are not transferable. In addition, you may need a CourseID, provided by your instructor, to register for and use Pearson's MyLab & Mastering products. Packages Access codes for Pearson's MyLab & Mastering products may not be included when purchasing or renting from companies other than Pearson; check with the seller before completing your purchase. Used or rental books If you rent or purchase a used book with an access code, the access code may have been redeemed previously and you may have to purchase a new access code. Access codes Access codes that are purchased from sellers other than Pearson carry a higher risk of being either the wrong ISBN or a previously redeemed code. Check with the seller prior to purchase. -- Used by over 1.5 million science students, the Mastering platform is the most effective and widely used online tutorial, homework, and assessment system for the sciences. The eText pages look exactly like the printed text, and include powerful interactive and customization functions. This is the product access code card for MasteringChemistry with Pearson eText and does not include the actual bound book. First Response: A Laboratory Health and Safety Chemical Expert System
First aid decisions made before professional medical help arrives in an emergency situation can be critical to the well-being of a victim. First Response is the resource to turn to when you need advice for emergency first aid response in the first few minutes after exposure to laboratory amounts of hazardous chemicals. This interactive program considers pertinent chemical and physical properties based on your responses to a few simple questions. It presents advice for exposure by inhalation, ingestion, and eye or skin contact. It also offers guidance on which types of respirators should be worn when working with a wide variety of chemicals. First Response was developed for the National Toxicology Program by occupational medical doctors, chemists, toxicologists, and industrial hygienists. It was used as the source of information for the National Toxicology Program's Chemical Database, Volume 5, and with its resident knowledge base, it can be used with any other databases or lists of chemicals to provide the same rapid, effective advice. Pull down help windows and automatic printing of advice reports make First Response quick and easy to use. The program also features automatic installation and is completely menu-driven. First Response is perfect for industrial hygienists, safety professionals, poison center personnel, industrial nurses, high school nurses, and university student treatment centers. Software requirements First Response will operate on IBM or IBM-compatible hardware with 640K RAM, a hard drive with a minimum of .5 MB of available disk space, and DOS 2.1 or higher.

Handbook of Physical-Chemical Properties and Environmental Fate for Organic Chemicals, Second Edition on CD-ROM
Transport and transformation processes as well as physical-chemical properties are key for determining the exposure and effects of various chemicals to humans and other organisms. The Handbook of Physical-Chemical Properties and Environmental Fate for Organic Chemicals, Second Edition on CD-ROM brings together all four volumes of the recently published print edition into a user-friendly and fully searchable digital reference. The handbook presents environmentally relevant physical-chemical property data pertaining to numerous groups of chemical substances, culled from peer-reviewed journals and other valuable sources on over 1200 chemicals. It also provides new data on the temperature dependence of selected physical-chemical properties, allowing scientists and engineers to perform better chemical assessments for climatic conditions outside the most commonly reported 20-25-degree range.

Egrade Homework to Accompany Olmsted's Chemistry: the Molecular Science, Third Edition
This third edition continues to innovate by providing students with an integrated and modern approach to the subject. The text emphasizes the modern tools of chemistry while incorporating historical evidence, and its unique molecular/quantitative emphasis is further reinforced by an integrated media package developed by the authors. Also of benefit is the just-in-time presentation of key content - only providing details once they are needed. While key topics and analytical techniques have been updated, there is now an additional, third chapter on chemical equilibrium. The authors have also developed an expanded and more integrated problem-solving emphasis that now incorporates a 4-step strategy throughout, complete with text icons. The whole is backed by a range of supplements, including a new illustration program, a tutorial CD, interactive learningware, an extensive Web CT component, an instructor's resource CD, and a solution CD.
