The Grace Year
A New York Times bestselling dark speculative feminist thriller in the vein of THE POWER and THE HANDMAID'S TALE. Optioned for film by Universal and Elizabeth Banks. The resistance starts here... No one speaks of the grace year. It's forbidden. We're told we have the power to lure grown men from their beds, make boys lose their minds, and drive the wives mad with jealousy. That's why we're banished for our sixteenth year, to release our magic into the wild before we're allowed to return to civilisation. But I don't feel powerful. I don't feel magical. Tierney James lives in an isolated village where girls are banished at sixteen to the northern forest to brave the wilderness - and each other - for a year. They must rid themselves of their dangerous magic before returning purified and ready to marry - if they're lucky. It is forbidden to speak of the grace year, but even so every girl knows that the coming year will change them - if they survive it... A critically acclaimed page-turning feminist dystopia about a young woman trapped in an oppressive society, fighting to take control of her own life.

I Am Uncle Sam
The second half of the twentieth century saw the United States endure a series of paradigm changes on the cultural, political, and social level. Spread out over the span of some fifty years, the population has become the anecdotal boiling frog, unaware of the danger it is in; however, in this alternate timeline, that is not the case: The dramatic demographic changes, overstepping of federal power, and polarization of ideologies all occurs within the span of a single decade giving rise to religious zealotry, ethnic tribalism, extreme views on authority, and more. I Am Uncle Sam explores the woes and drives of American/White Nationalism from the perspectives of four disenfranchised young-men whose lives become tied to the events of a Second American Civil War; a story that demonstrates how love for homeland becomes hate for all which threatens it.

From Science Fiction to Science Fact
The iconic futurist artist and designer Syd Mead once described science fiction as reality ahead of schedule . In From Science Fiction to Science Fact, Levy explores the visions of the writers, futurists and far-sighted inventors who made those realities, from the direct influence of H.G. Wells on the atomic bomb and the tank, to the ambitious prototypes created by inventors ahead of their time, such as Nikola Tesla's remote-controlled drone ships. The history and development of each technology is detailed and related in context, exploring the road from prescient fictional representation to real-life technology. Meet the greatest names and works in sci-fi, from Jules Verne and Aldous Huxley to Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov, Star Trek to the Bionic Man, alongside visionary inventors such as Tesla and Wernher von Braun. The Time Machine & Other Stories
So, in the end, above ground you must have the Haves, pursuing pleasure and comfort and beauty, and below ground the Have-nots, the Workers getting continually adapted to the conditions of their labour. The Time Machine was H.G. Well's debut novel - an astonishing dystopian tale which earnt Wells' his reputation as the 'father of science-fiction'. When the Time Traveller travels to the year 802,701 AD, he finds a world drastically divided. Two races have descended from humans - the elven Eloi who live a peaceful but empty existence, and the mysterious subterranean Morlocks who are deeply feared by the Eloi. After losing his time machine, the traveller must journey through a network of Morlock tunnels to recover his device and return to his own world. But not all is as it seems... The Time Machine is brought to you here alongside a selection of Wells' fantastic short stories, including classics such as 'The Country of the Blind' and 'The Door in the Wall' and 'The Stolen Bacillus'. These stories offer both magnificent adventures and poignant explorations of ethics in the face of scientific progress.

Haunted By Her Name
When William and Charlotte; a loving couple with two handsome, little boys for sons, first found out that the third time was the charm and they finally got a daughter, they named her Carol Anne after the little girl in the 1980's Poltergeist movie trilogy; the actress who played her having since died shortly before the second sequel's release in theaters. At first, everything seemed fine and normal, until strange events started occurring and though these events seemed benign and random, William and Charlotte soon realized that they seemed to center around their baby daughter and the reason for it truly shocked them. Desperate, they reach out to a team of parapsychologists to investigate these disturbances and what they find confirms William and Charlotte's suspicions. Ultimately, William and Charlotte resolve to call in a priest to bless the house and rid themselves of these spooky entities before any harm comes to their precious, beautiful, infant daughter or themselves.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing, the endlessly-mysterious moon is explored in this reprint short science fiction anthology from award-winning editor and anthologist Neil Clarke (Clarkesworld, The Best Science Fiction of the Year). On July 20, 1969, mankind made what had only years earlier seemed like an impossible leap forward: when Apollo 11 became the first manned mission to land on the moon, and Neil Armstrong the first person to step foot on the lunar surface. While there have only been a handful of new missions since, the fascination with our planet's satellite continues, and generations of writers and artists have imagined the endless possibilities of lunar life. From adventures in the vast gulf of space between the earth and the moon, to journeys across the light face to the dark side, to the establishment of permanent residences on its surface, science fiction has for decades given readers bold and forward-thinking ideas about our nearest interstellar neighbor and what it might mean to humankind, both now and in our future. The Eagle Has Landed collects the best stories written in the fifty years since mankind first stepped foot on the lunar surface, serving as a shining reminder that the moon is and always has been our most visible and constant example of all the infinite possibility of the wider universe. The Astral Offsprings Reign of Aries: Revised Edition
Every century, the twelve astrological zodiac gods make their way down to Earth and procreate with mortals to bear one single offspring. Each offspring has special abilities associated with the four major elements that are related to each god; fire, earth, air, and water. Aries, the god of war and famine, begins to plot his reign over mankind to express his hatred toward humans for being the outcast among the Astrals. He uses his offspring, Axel, as his puppet to carry out his evil deeds until he is able to manifest and create chaos on Earth. Reina, the daughter of Virgo, and Asher, the son of Leo, work together to try and stop Axel from being completely corrupted by Aries' chaos. With the help of the researchers at the Astral Research Center, the rest of the offspring from around the world are brought together for the first time in history. Despite being only teenagers, the offspring are faced with the challenge of defeating Aries in order to save mankind and restore order between mortals and Astrals.

Etidorhpa or the End of Earth: The Strange History of a Mysterious Being (Hardcover)
Etidorhpa is an early science fiction novel depicting a man's descent into the bowels of the Earth at the instigation of a mysterious secret society - it is presented here complete with the original illustrations. Llewyllyn Drury is visited by a mysterious old man whose defining physical feature is his large, protruding forehead. The man offers to tell his story, promising his life and knowledge is worth writing down. As the man displays certain enthralling and supernatural powers, Drury takes on the task - Etidorhpa is this story, interspersed with pauses wherein Drury questions his strange guest. John Uri Lloyd was a popular author of mystery and science fiction books. His profession however was pharmacology, with his specialism being herbal medicines and ethnobotanicals. The presence of giant mushrooms in one part of the story, plus the various fantastical elements described, have led some readers to speculate that the author's knowledge of mind-altering substances influenced Etidorhpa's plotting.

After London, Or, Wild England: A Classic of Post-Apocalyptic Science Fiction (Hardcover)
This sci-fi classic depicts a London destroyed by a cataclysmic event, with the remnants of England's population beginning a primitive society in the countryside. With a background in studying the rural regions of England, professional naturalist turned novelist Richard Jefferies took to authoring a story that imagined a world in which nature emerges victorious over the encroaching industrialized world. London - the epicentre of urban activity and industrial progress - undergoes a disaster which wipes its human population, and much of England's, from existence. Jefferies investigates the aftermath of the disaster, as communities of people begin to form anew. The traces of London are gradually subsumed by nature, its ruined buildings worn away by water, plants and trees rising to reclaim the land upon which the metropolis sat. By contrast nature and man flourish anew in a mostly harmonious partnership.

Jillian Tosscobble: The Refugee
Jillian Tosscobble and her people flee the Tithes in hope of finding a better future on the surface. On their way out, the Tosscobbles meet up with an ancient race, the goblins, who are a little less than functional. They try to build a new life only to find out that the refugees from the Tithes are less than welcome on the surface. Meanwhile, Jillian can't let go of her husband who was separated from her during the war in the Tithes. The Refugee is a fantastic continuation of the world-building legacy that Nolan started in `Jillian Tosscobble: The Peasant,' with strong female characters, steampunk elements, genetic modification, and a unique take on classic fantasy races. The Refugee is about 74,000 words. Hand-drawn cover art by Jillian Strom with colored pencil as medium. Hardcover is a very large book that showcases the artwork. Large print at 16 font.
