Jacob Adler: A Life on the Stage

A lost theatrical treasure has been rediscovered. Originally written and published in Yiddish, the memoirs of Jacob Adler (1855-1926), one of America's greatest actors, have at last been translated. This is the first English translation. They take us through Jacob's childhood in Russia, where he helped establish Yiddish theatre, through his professional travels to London, and ending with his and Yiddish theatre's triumphs in New York.
