This volume presents cantata texts, song cycle words, and previously unpublished sacred poems by Richard Leach. It includes Blessing Without Borders (a Christmas cantata), The Book of Waters , and For the Healing of the Nations (on world peace), created with composer Curt Oliver and performed in St. Paul (MN), Elizabethtown (KY) and other cities; 28 Views of Jesus , a double cycle of poems for Christmas and Easter; and One Step Then Another, an imaginative song cycle on Jesus' healing of the paralyzed man lowered through his roof (as told in Mark 2). Richard Leach is a leading contemporary writer of words for new hymns and anthems. He began writing hymns in 1987, while serving as a pastor in New England. Since then, his work has been published in the United States, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong and Scotland, in denominational and independent publications. He was a United Church of Christ pastor from 1978 to 1999, and is now a lay member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
