Agro-ecological Zoning: Guidelines

Over the past two decades, the Food and Agricultural Organization has developed the agro-ecological zones (AEZ) methodology and supporting software packages to analyze solutions to various problems of land resources for planning and management for sustainable agricultural development at regional, national and sub-national levels. The guidelines contained in this publication are intended to assist land resources specialists, land use planners and managers and other users wishing to implement AEZ studies. AEZ concepts and methods are described and the sequence of activities involved in AEZ studies presented. It provides a step-by-step guide to carrying ut an AEZ study.
