The Eight-Year-Old Legend Book
This collection of stories is based upon tales told by the Buddha to his monks 2500 years ago. Isabel Wyatt's enchanting retelling conjures up a rich world of eastern legend, ruled by courtly kings and wise men, and populated by brave princes, faithful elephants and cunning monkeys. The stories tell of great adventures and heroes, of danger and courage, and most importantly of how wisdom and thoughtfulness always triumph over selfishness and greed. This anthology was compiled with children around the age of eight in mind -- children who are embarking on more and more adventures in their own lives, and themselves learning to become clever and brave.

Legends of King Arthur
Enter a world of duels and jousting, where knights battle to protect the honour of fair maidens and defend King Arthur's castle. Knights meet in fellowship at Camelot, and are entertained with feasting and pageantry. Honour and chivalry are valued above all else, and courageous knights fight strange, unearthly foes to prove themselves worthy of a place at King Arthur's table. These ancient tales have been told since the fifth century when Welsh bards travelled the country entertaining lords and ladies with stories and songs. They were retold in verse by Chretien de Troyes in his twelfth-century Le Morte d'Arthur, and in prose by Sir Thomas Malory in the fifteenth century. Now, renowned storyteller Isabel Wyatt presents her own fresh retelling of a selection of these fascinating legends.

Norse Hero Tales: The King and the Green Angelica and Other Stories
The world of the Norsemen -- men of the North -- was rich in poetry, legend and song. Whenever there was a feast to greet guests, or celebrate weddings or the safe return of voyagers, the bards or 'skalds' were called on to tell stories and sing songs. These stories were colourful and dramatic. They told of kings and queens, princes and princesses, duels and battles, and great journeys across the sea. They offered heroes to admire, villains to fear, and made the listeners tremble and gasp with tales of love and daring, power and cunning. Stories, like the ones in this book, were their window on the whole world. These stories of Norse heroes, beautifully retold by the renowned storyteller Isabel Wyatt, are drawn from the collection of tales compiled by Saxo Grammaticus and other early Scandinavian writers. Includes an informative introduction. These stories are particularly useful for those teaching Norse mythology in Steiner-Waldorf Class 4 (age 9-10).

Legends of the Norse Kings: The Saga of King Ragnar Goatskin and The Dream of King Alfdan
The tales of the medieval Norse kings were originally sung or told as 'sagas'. These were legendary adventures full of exciting episodes in which the hero fought wicked enemies or even dragons in order to win the hand of a princess or to fulfil a great destiny. The two sagas in this book date from the twelfth to the fifteenth centuries. The Danish ruler known as King Ragnar Goatskin was famous for fighting a dragon which had captured the princess Tora, and so won her hand in marriage. She died after giving him two sons and he then married Kraka, a beautiful maiden of royal birth disguised as a farm girl. Their struggle against the evils of war and witchcraft are vividly narrated in the stories that follow. The Dream of King Alfdan tells the adventures of the brave princess Ragnild and her brother Guthorm after the death of their father King Sigurd, and how Alfdan's dream that he will have a son to rule over all Norway comes true in the end. These stories of Norse kings, beautifully retold by the renowned storyteller Isabel Wyatt, are drawn from the sagas recorded by the historian Saxo Grammaticus and other Scandinavian writers of the Middle Ages.

The Kingdom of Beautiful Colours: A Picture Book for Children
Once upon a time a wonderful rainbow shone brightly over the Kingdom of Beautiful Colours, telling the King and his children that all was well. The yellow cornfields were full of grain to feed the people, the lush green meadows nourished the animals and the blue forests were abundant with lumber to build fires and homes. Before the King begins a long journey, he entrusts each of his children with part of the kingdom, each with its own rainbow, so that they will learn to rule the land with wisdom and care. While three of the siblings work hard for their parts of the kingdom and keep their rainbows bright, the youngest prince tires of his responsibilities quickly. When a cunning imp offers to do his work for him, the lazy prince foolishly trusts him. Will the young prince learn the value of hard work, and discover that short cuts have consequences, or will his rainbow be forever diminished? The Kingdom of Beautiful Colours is a heart-warming and inspiring picture book adaptation of the much-loved tale from master storyteller Isabel Wyatt, accompanied by soft, ethereal watercolour illustrations by Waldorf artist and teacher Sara Parrilli.
