When Yasmin finds a jewelled egg in her grandfather's shed, her first thought is to sell it. Unfortunately, the object is no valuable Faberge antique, but a dangerous weapon from another planet. Torchwood - 1.5 Uncanny Valley
The hit BBC series is back! Big Finish bring immortal Time Agent Captain Jack Harkness back to life in a series of six new audio dramas. What's made billionaire Neil Redmond emerge from his long seclusion? Captain Jack knows the answer, and is prepared to go to any lengths to prove it. A couple of years ago, Neil Redmond was in a terrible accident. His recovery has been long and slow, but now he's back and looking better than ever. Much better than ever. Dark forces have been behind Neil's transformation. Dark forces that Jack has been hunting for a long time. But Captain Jack's never been able to resist the darkness. The huge, and long-running public interest in new Torchwood adventures resulted in a server melt-down when this release was announced by star John Barrowman on his Sunday night radio slot. The popularity of these releases meant that a second series was greenlit only shortly after it began. John Barrowman reprises the character who starred in four years of hit Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, screened around the world.Torchwood has seen a number of notable guest stars in its TV run, including British legend Richard Briers, as well as the 12th Doctor Who, Peter Capaldi in the chilling miniseries Torchwood - Children of Earth. Torchwood contains adult material and may not be suitable for younger listeners. CAST: John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness), Steven Cree (Neil Redmond), Emma Reeves (Miss Trent).

Doctor Who: The Legends of Ashildr
Ashildr, a young Viking girl, died helping the Doctor and Clara to save the village she loved. And for her heroism, the Doctor used alien technology to bring her back to life. Ashildr is now immortal - The Woman Who Lived. Since that day, Ashildr has kept journals to chronicle her extraordinary life. The Legends of Ashildr is a glimpse of some of those stories: the terrors she has faced, the battles she has won, and the treasures she has found. These are tales of a woman who lived longer than she should ever have lived - and lost more than she can even remember. This is an original novel featuring the Twelfth Doctor as played by Peter Capaldi, and Ashildr as played by Maisie Williams.

Torchwood - 19 The Death of Captain Jack
Captain Jack is finally dying, and it's time for his oldest friend to visit his deathbed. King John has come to tell him a story. The story of the life he should have had. It's the story of Alexander the Great, sinking ships, falling empires, robot dinosaurs, and alien invasions. It's a story of love, royal weddings, murder, mass murder, genocide, and very tight trousers. It's the story of the life of Captain John and it's the story of Torchwood. Be careful what you wish for. The huge and long - running public interest in new Torchwood adventures resulted in a server melt-down when its return on audio was announced by star John Barrowman on his Sunday night radio slot. Across the range, John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Kai Owen and Gareth David -Lloyd have reprised the characters who starred in four years of hit Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, screened around the world - Gareth David-Lloyd played Ianto Jones in the BBC series, a character so popular with fans that when he was killed off, a shrine was created in Cardiff that is still there to this day! This marks the first time James Marsters has reprised his popular Captain Hart character, though to fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer he's still best known as the charismatic baddy vampire Spike! Big Finish's Torchwood range also includes - so far - three specials: Torchwood - Outbreak, The Torchwood Archive and Torchwood One - Before the Fall, and in late 2017 a new audio range carried on the series from where it left off on TV. Toshiko needs to get into Zone 10 - a frozen wasteland which officially doesn't exist. An intergalactic war was once fought in Zone 10 and it turns out there's a survivor. The First Lady of Mulberry Walk: The Life and Times of Irish Sculptress Anne Acheson
Anne Acheson was a sensitive, caring and extremely talented sculptress, whose gift to the world at large has remained unacknowledged for almost a century. During voluntary work in the First World War, she applied her artistic skills to invent the first anatomically accurate splints, which helped the injured Tommies' limbs heal better. These prototype splints were constructed from papier mache. After this work with her pioneering team at the Surgical Requisites Association (headquarters Number 17 Mulberry Walk in Chelsea), Anne retrained as a precision engineer and draughtswoman in order to do voluntary work during the Second World War (she also worked for the Red Cross during this time). Her eye-witness accounts of the Blitz in London are particularly vivid, capturing the much-talked of 'Spirit of the Blitz'. Either side of each of the global conflicts, she pursued her chosen career in sculpting, becoming very popular and successful during the 1920s and 1930s. She was one of the first women to be elected to the Royal Society of British Sculptors, before becoming the organisation's first female Fellow. She was appointed a CBE in 1919 for her work with the SRA at Mulberry Walk, and her bust of the female explorer and Arabist, Gertrude Bell, is in the National Museum in Baghdad - presently stored in a basement for safekeeping - while a replica stands in the entrance to the Royal Geographical Society in Kensington Gore.

Torchwood: Trace Memory
Tiger Bay, Cardiff, 1953. A mysterious crate is brought into the docks on a Scandinavian cargo ship. Its destination: the Torchwood Institute. As the crate is offloaded by a group of local dockers, it explodes, killing all but one of them, a young Butetown lad called Michael Bellini. Fifty-five years later, a radioactive source somewhere inside the Hub leads Torchwood to discover the same Michael Bellini, still young and dressed in his 1950s clothes, cowering in the vaults. They soon realise that each has encountered Michael before - as a child in Osaka, as a junior doctor, as a young police constable, as a new recruit to Torchwood One. But it's Jack who remembers him best of all. Michael's involuntary time-travelling has something to do with a radiation-charged relic held inside the crate. And the Men in Bowler Hats are coming to get it back. Featuring Captain Jack Harkness as played by John Barrowman, with Gwen Cooper, Owen Harper, Toshiko Sato and Ianto Jones as played by Eve Myles, Burn Gorman, Naoki Mori and Gareth David-Lloyd, in the hit sci-fi series created by Russell T Davies for BBC Television.

Torchwood: Consequences
Saving the planet, watching over the Rift, preparing the human race for the twenty-first century... Torchwood has been keeping Cardiff safe since the late 1800s. Small teams of heroes, working 24/7, encountering and containing the alien, the bizarre and the inexplicable. But Torchwood do not always see the effects of their actions. What links the Rules and Regulations for replacing a Torchwood leader to the destruction of a supermarket? How does a witness to an alien's reprisals against Torchwood become caught up in a night of terror in a university library? And why should Gwen and Ianto's actions at a local publisher's affect Torchwood more than a century earlier? For Torchwood, the past will always catch up with them. And sometimes the future will catch up with the past... Featuring sci-fi stories by writers for the hit Torchwood series created by Russell T Davies for BBC Television, including James Moran and Joseph Lidster, plus Andrew Cartmel, Sarah Pinborough and David Llewellyn.
